Cement is alive, and fights for us. It shouts ?Freedom!?? and fights for equality among classes, against the aristocracy of majolica and Venetian floors. Cement is for the people. It is part of the Italian industrial tradition, because it was born during the industrial revolution and immediately established itself as one of the most resistant and economical materials for flooring. For these reasons, the timeless beauty of cement tiles made history between 1800 and 1900, and has returned in all its glory in recent years, in the midst of the retro revival we are living in now. But we have gone beyond this, giving new life to the craftsmanship of cement. After cement was swept away by the emergence of the ceramic industry, in Sicily we found one of the last artisans who still works it according to ancient tradition. We have since embarked on the path of a new project to revive the Italian craftsmanship of cement tiles by offering contemporary colors with new and innovative shapesThe design of our cement tiles breathe the scents of nearby North Africa and are influenced by them, creating unique colors and possibilities thanks to the combination of many monochrome shapes.Within cement coexists the redevelopment of large cities, industrialization, the neighborhoods and colors of North Africa, the sun of Sicily, and the Mediterranean breeze: it is thanks to this melting pot that cement can simultaneously create a pleasantly old-fashioned atmosphere, rustic yet sophisticated, traditional yet contemporary.
Colors
GreyNeither white nor black: grey is the synthesis. The union of two worlds, the artisanal world of terracotta production and the modern world of soft and delicate nuances, rich in malleable shades and warm shadows. A firm position is not always synonymous with wisdom, sometimes grey is what is needed. In medio stat virtus: virtue stands in the middle.Carta da ZuccheroThink of summer and you will think of the breeze of the sea and the color of the sky, two sides of a blue that is sometimes intense, sometimes light. It is the blue Carta da Zucchero, which will take you from your surfaces to the Sicilian beaches of the Tyrrhenian, Ionian and Mediterranean seas.
Form
SquareThe square is a circle with angles. It is imperfect perfection, irregular regularity, abstract concreteness. It dominates the world of parallelograms and its linear formula communicates only one thing: harmony. For this reason a cement product (of the people, basic) in the form of a square (elevated, perfect) generates a kaleidoscope of possibilities. Predictability is boring.
