Cement is alive, and fights for us. It shouts “Freedom!”? and fights for equality among classes, against the aristocracy of majolica and Venetian floors. Cement is for the people. It is part of the Italian industrial tradition, because it was born during the industrial revolution and immediately established itself as one of the most resistant and economical materials for flooring. For these reasons, the timeless beauty of cement tiles made history between 1800 and 1900, and has returned in all its glory in recent years, in the midst of the retro revival we are living in now. But we have gone beyond this, giving new life to the craftsmanship of cement. After cement was swept away by the emergence of the ceramic industry, in Sicily we found one of the last artisans who still works it according to ancient tradition. We have since embarked on the path of a new project to revive the Italian craftsmanship of cement tiles by offering contemporary colors with new and innovative shapes The design of our cement tiles breathe the scents of nearby North Africa and are influenced by them, creating unique colors and possibilities thanks to the combination of many monochrome shapes. Within cement coexists the redevelopment of large cities, industrialization, the neighborhoods and colors of North Africa, the sun of Sicily, and the Mediterranean breeze: it is thanks to this melting pot that cement can simultaneously create a pleasantly old-fashioned atmosphere, rustic yet sophisticated, traditional yet contemporary.
Color
Silver The moon’s reflections on the nighttime sea create luminous ripples that shine in the dark with delicate melancholy, lulled by the waves. It is an ethereal serenity, precious and bright like silver, ancient like the world.
Form
Hexagon Nothing is born from diamonds. Flowers are born from manure. From the cold anonymity of the hexagonal cement tiles of public buildings, an ambiance of soft warmth is born. It is the essence of concrete united with the shape of the hexagon. The perfect synthesis between tradition and innovation.
